We all could use a little relief. A time without our burdens chaining us to the soil. In a more beautiful world there is always a road to recovery, though even in that winsome world the road is always long.

The past few years have been difficult. No matter what country you live in, you've seen adversity up close. Worldwide people have lost their jobs, homes, and the ability to provide for their loved ones. Earthquakes and tsunamis devastated South America, New Zealand, and Japan. The U.S. wages two wars abroad, while at home it slowly strips its citizens of their liberty. And a chain of revolutions pummel the Middle East.

As humans we are fallible, susceptible, and easily damaged. As artists we are doubly so, because we clothe ourselves in our passion. Addiction, anxiety, and depression are all but part of the job description.

But there is a way forward. Before us there may be a long road, but it's there for us to walk. This summer, Projekt30 is seeking work that speaks to the need for, or process of, recovery. Be it personal recovery, political recovery, economic recovery, or recovery of the spirit.

As all Projekt30 exhibitions, The Road to Recovery will be publicly juried, meaning all artists receive exposure. At the conclusion of the jurying period, 30 artists will be selected for the final show. During both the jurying period and the final exhibition, invitations will be sent to our extensive mailing list of galleries, collectors, and patrons all around the world.
