Fiction, Lies, & Evasion

One of the first uses of art was to tell a story. Religions organizations once commissioned visual depictions of their stories to convey them to a sometimes predominately illiterate audience, or now simply to bring their beliefs to life. Political organizations and/or independent artists create narrative imagery to espouse their beliefs or illustrate a particular ideology. Artists construct narrative works to commemorate historical events, to recount events of personal significance, or simply to entertain.

This April Projekt30 will host an exhibition exploring art's ability to tell a story. As always, the exhibition will be publicly juried, and all mediums (except 4D) are welcome.
