Hi. Just glad to be a part of Projekt30! These photos are from a book called Dead Desert Night which was shot in the Sonoran Desert over a five year period. I am currently looking for a publisher. The pictures outline the scope of a new desert which has emerged over the past several decades- a manmade place full of machines and tentacles of growth and the inevitable decline of natural space. The photos present the little-seen mechanics of desert habitation and the debris of a collision between nature and expansion. The project was shot entirely at night without the aid of additive light or any other visual tricks, even Photoshop. So, long exposures and film and incredibly slow methods of work. A couple of the images up for exhibit may have been the only views that were found over a period of several nights. The process was transcendent on a personal level- I have never felt so at-home in such an alienating place, and I hope the pictures reveal something new for you. Thanks.
