People always ask me what my paintings are about, and I´m never quite sure how to answer. I´m obsessed with beauty. Perception and our ability to alter it fascinates me. I'm perplexed and excited by the blurred boundaries between the real and the surreal, the conscious and the unconscious, the physical and the spiritual–even the ugly and the beautiful. Ambiguity seduces me. If I knew exactly what I was going to paint and why, the process would loose its allure. Painting is a beautiful and intimate process. It´s the experience of this intimacy that makes creating art so addictive.
